( Brand: Simco-longhorn ), ( Model: 3108 ), ( Part Type: Oil Saddle Seat ), ( Saddle Type: Barrel Racing ), ( Color: Dark Oil ), ( Saddle Size: 15 ), ( Country/region Of Manufacture: Unknown )
So I have taken multiple pictures prior to cleaning it and am being as descriptive possible. It does come with a leather billet strap missing the tie and light oil cinch that was sent saddle. Probably within the next couple of years stirrups and fleece will need replaced, depending on how much saddle is used well it cared for.
The saddle looks great especially out in light. The paint and dye job was done very well. Otherwise it would also make a great decorative piece or possible swing for young girl. The saddle structure itself was in great shape.
The saddle is an older model Simco barrel.
No sign of dry rot. The cinch strap is in good shape, billet starting to wear. I was told to use neatest oil once cleaned condition it.
Comes from a smoke free home with pets. I used laxly 3n1 saddle cleaner, conditioner leather restoration. The hardware is oxidized and stirrups are starting to wear at one point along edge, fenders also bent out of shape some.
Stored inside. The paint job held up using cleaner on it. The fleece is in okay shape. Specs: Simco western saddle '' padded suede seat 7.
Don't get me wrong, it is beautiful, but I was told black and not. I'm already starting to see a difference in the leather becoming more flexible and at least front fenders aren't curled as much. There may be stray hairs on or inside the package.
If you know a local tack dealer or someone who doesn't charge much for labor, it is definitely worth the money. I have several bays and don't want a dark oil saddle. That presents another problem because I have a health prevents me from being able to use these chemicals clean it.
I was told the hardware could be replaced easy enough. The pictures were taken before I started working on cleaning it.
