Tex Tans Hereford saddle, in all its incarnations from roping to barrel racing parade, has gained a reputation for high quality and durability is still widely available, with brisk trade used modern historic examples. Same soft, padded leather on front of fenders like a knee block - this also shows some crazing and wear but nothing structural. Both Fenders clearly marked with the Hereford head stamp and Brand, Tex Tan, Hokum.
All original and I do not see anywhere this saddle has been repaired. Includes all rigging in excellent condition. Its possible the rear strings have been replaced at some point and I only say this as back ones are braided not seen before. Fully usable and ready to go.
The Leather is supple. Some light crazing on the seat and some rubs back side of seat/candle show in pics. All original conchs. And it became a division of that company as Tex Tan Western Leather in 1961.
All stitching intact. Fully Tooled and lots of Buck Stitching. Seat is nicely padded and has a heart shape stitching on it. Tree is sound and tight.
In 1956 it merged with Randy Corp. Pad in picture not included. But this mouthful soon got shrunk down to Tex Tan. Please e-mail with any questions.
Also has model # 1250 884 68435 stamped on back skirt. Own a piece of history. Better known as Tex Tan, maker of Hereford brand saddles. Old Herefords are still being dug out of barns and attics to be lovingly reconditioned put back into service.

Original real wool fleece underneath is worn but fine when a pad used.
